Rachel and Levi contacted me about filming their #elopement only a month prior, asking if I would fly down to film it. Being a mid week elopement, I was able to squeeze them in, making them wedding number nine for a one month period. It was so worth it.
I flew in on a Tuesday night, spent the night in Portland, and the next morning drove to the coast to meet up with the bride and groom to film a little adventure session of them and their puppy. I absolutely love when I get the opportunity to meet up with the couple before their actual wedding day besides just over the phone. It allows us to hangout in a stress free environment and become friends! Thats exactly what this session was about.
On their elopement day, we started out by getting lunch together with a couple of their family members and then headed to a winery for some wine tasting. It was such a calm relaxing day before heading to #capekiwanda for the real deal. We chose a perfect little cove with a gorgeous red-rock backdrop. Afterwards we celebrated with a champagne spray, dancing around the beach, and hiked up to the most gorgeous spot for some portraits which landed us near sunset.
The next morning I immediately woke up early to drive to the airport to catch my flight home, and had ANOTHER wedding the next day. It was a crazy week but I was SO excited to start editing.
As a little gift of my appreciation to my couple, I created a one minute teaser film for them to enjoy while waiting for their full film. After all, they literally paid for me to travel down to capture their day. HOW COOL.
Traveling to new destinations to capture weddings and elopements is something I was born for. I have a deep love for travel and romance and to be able to intermix the two and create something beautiful for my couples is the best thing in the world.
I cannot WAIT for the next destination wedding and elopement.
