A non-traditional wedding venue such as a private estate can provide a unique and sentimental location for your wedding. Whether you're using a family home from within the family - or borrowing a friend's epic location - these are some tips on how to make the most out of your location.
In this blog post I will be gearing my tips towards inspiration for a wedding with a chic, old money feel specifically for California, but can be used as reference for any backyard or private estate wedding.
Implement sun umbrellas
Sun umbrellas can add a classic, old money feel to your wedding. Whether you're using them to elevate cocktail hour, or to add a unique twist to your ceremony design, these can make a huge difference to fill up an outdoor space.
Invest in rentals
In addition to sun umbrellas, adding unique longe pieces and furniture can really make an outdoor space look like something new.
Wedding dress code
The most simple way to elevate to overall aura of your event ( and your photos and video) is by implementing a more formal dress code. By requiring a black tie optional or creative black tie dress code, it will instantly make your wedding look more high end.
Potted Florals
One of the saddest thing at the end of a wedding is how many beautiful flowers go to waste. Something you can do to make more of your flowers long lasting is by doing potted florals! This way if you're having the wedding at a family home, they can have a beautiful yard all summer long. Coordinate your wedding colors and make the most out of flowers that LAST.
I include all of these tips plus a few more in my instagram reel you can view HERE.
